Israeli Military Assails Syria Via Turkey

Israeli PlanesThe Israeli army used a Turkish military base to launch its recent airstrike against Syria from the sea last week when it was reported to be responsible for July 5 depot attack in Latakia, a reliable source told Russia Today.

"Israeli planes left a military base inside Turkey and approached Latakia from the sea to make sure that they stayed out of Syrian airspace so that they do not become a legitimate target for the Syrian air force," RT's reporter said.

Turkey, in response, categorically denied helping the Israeli military to launch such an attack.

Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu considered that existing reports of the incident are “absolutely wrong” and those who spread such rumors are in “act of betrayal.”

“Turkey will neither be a part nor a partner of such attacks," he added.

“We officially inform that this allegation is definitely untrue,” Turkish Ambassador to Moscow told RT.

It is worth to mention that Turkey has been backing the insurgents in Syria against the government and the army since the beginning of the Syrian crisis.

The Israeli military had earlier attacked Damascus on May 5, targeting the Jamraya military research center in the Eastern Ghouta region.
