14/07/2009 The head of the Democratic Gathering MP Walid Jumblatt said on Tuesday that the Lebanese government formation opens a wide door to an inter-Arab reconciliation, in particular between Saudi Arabia and Syria. Speaking to reporters after visiting his "friend" Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Jumblatt said that the inter-Arab reconciliation process, and the Syrian-Saudi meeting, will reflect positively on Lebanon, especially considering that both states had patronized the Taif Accord. Asked if the road to Damascus is now open for him, he said that he would handle his issue in his way after Hariri's expected visit to Damascus, and a reconciliation based on the Taif Accord. Meanwhile, the Progressive Socialist Party leader praised Berri's positive attitude toward cabinet formation. "I found a positive response to facilitating the PM-designate mission," Jumblatt said, adding that details are to be discusses between the Speaker and the PM-designate.
