Nasrallah promises grand surprises if Lebanon attacked
Al-Manar special - Mohamad Shmaysani / Readers Number : 3522

15/08/2007 Tens of thousands of Lebanese and Arab Hezbollah supporters gathered Tuesday in the Raya stadium in Beirut's southern suburb to mark the 1st anniversary of the Divine victory. They were all waiting for Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah to appear on dozens of giant screens to renew homage to the resistance as a choice to defend Lebanon against US-Israeli plots and aggressions. When his eminence appeared, enthusiastic flag holders were waving Lebanese and Hezbollah flags as fast as their hearts were beating, particularly when Sayyed Nasrallah saluted the "honorable" masses, as he always like to call them.
"Today I address the people of Lebanon and our Arab and Islamic peoples and to all the people of the world, through you and through the southern suburb, to thank the leaders, powers, movements, societies, figures and all those who stood by Lebanon during the Israeli aggression against this country. And I thank all those who offered help to Lebanon to heal the wounds and wipe off tears," Sayyed Nasrallah said.

The War And Hezbollah Preparedness
In his Tuesday evening address, the third in a series of speeches he has made in recent weeks to mark the August 14 anniversary, Sayyed Nasrallah promised Israel a "big surprise" if it tired to attack Lebanon. "Oh Zionists, if you think of launching an aggression against Lebanon, I won't promise you surprises like those that you have witnessed, but I promise you the grand surprise that could change the destiny of the war and the region," Sayyed Nasrallah said. "If, God forbid, war happens, we must be ready," his eminence added, stressing his remark last month that his group's rockets were capable of hitting any spot in Israel was designed as a deterrent and not to bring on a conflict.
"I warn the Israelis and advise them. Here in Lebanon they face a resistance, an army and a nation that reject humiliation. A nation that fights and is ready for sacrifices and will achieve the historic victory, God willing," Sayyed Nasrallah said.
"You might say I am exercising a psychological war. This is true yet my psychological war is based on truthful facts and aims at avoiding any war. And by saying this, the resistance and I realize the responsibility we are taking on," he added.
His eminence also warned that "any new war on Lebanon will have a high price … I am not looking for war, but I am working on preventing a war," he added. "Readiness for war and preparedness for war is the most important means to prevent war," he said. "The Zionists and Americans are beating the drums of war, God willing there will not be a war. As I have said in previous speeches, we do not want war," Sayyed Nasrallah added.

The Objective Of Last Summer's War
Hezbollah's chief explained that tyrannical forces have sought to portray last summer's war as one between Israel and forces subservient to Iran and Syria and one aimed against the tribunal of international character to try suspects in the assassination of former Prime Minister martyr Rafik Hariri. "This claim has tumbled in front of the objectives set by Rice and Olmert at the beginning of the war. The whole world knew that the objective of the war was to subjugate Lebanon for the birth of the so called New Middle East, which eventually failed," Sayyed Nasrallah said.  The Hezbollah Secretary General also said that the US and Israelis had sought to undermine the resistance's victory because "this victory gave new hope to the Umma and presented a serious alternative to defend lands and countries. This is not a victory for a sect or a religion or a party. When we triumphed in the war, it was a triumph for Lebanon and the Umma, and if we were to be defeated it would have been a defeat to Lebanon and the Umma."
Sayyed Nasrallah explained that the New Middle East Project dates back to the early 20th century, when the founder of Zionism, Theodore Hertzl, wrote in 1877 that there should be a commonwealth in the Middle East where the Jewish state will have a leading role. "And in 1907, the British minister of settlements said that the Mediterranean constitutes a danger on the west since it is the link between the east and the west, not to mention the natural resources and riches there…This is when they exploited religion to divide the Arab world into small states," Sayyed Nasrallah said.
He added that "today we have foiled the birth of the new Middle East, but this does not mean that they will not continue to make new attempts, this time on religious and sectarian bases."
Sayyed Nasrallah said in his speech that the most dangerous objective of the war was the deliberate targeting of Muslim Shiites, destroying their homes, schools and institutions and killing their women and children to punish the resistance society and incite it against Hezbollah and the resistance. He added that this objective was also foiled.

Reconstruction
On the 14th of August 2006, Sayyed Nasrallah promised those who lost their homes of as soon as possible. "What we offered to our people was not compensation; it was contributions and aids to heal the wounds of those who had lost their homes and businesses. The government ought to pay compensations. It has received more than a billion USD in aids from donor countries, and this money is the right of the afflicted people." The Hezbollah chief added that Hezbollah had so far contributed more than 380 million USD, "and it's all clean and legitimate money, without political conditions." On the first anniversary of the Divine victory, Sayyed Nasrallah criticized the government's slow pace in paying compensation to those afflicted and vowed to launch a new contribution called "rental", which will see Hezbollah paying rentals for up to 12 months until reconstruction of the destroyed house is completed.

Politics
Sayyed Nasrallah said Hezbollah supported mediation efforts to be undertaken by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in the upcoming week in a bid to reach a solution to the ten-month-old political impasse. "We support a compromise in Lebanon and we warn the Lebanese against attempts undertaken by the United States and some Lebanese politicians to hamper any resolutions to the crisis," he said. Nasrallah was referring to statements made on Saturday by MP Walid Jumblatt, who said that anyone from the February 14 bloc who thinks of reaching a compromise or a settlement with the opposition would be considered a traitor and should be executed "morally and politically."
Sayyed Nasrallah renewed his support for the Lebanese Army, saying the US rejected the concept of having a "strong army in Lebanon capable of protecting its land and people before our army stops considering Israel as an enemy."
"The resistance along with the army and the courageous people of Lebanon will achieve a victory every time," he said.

Discriminatory Statement 15/08/2007 21:19:00
Faris Ziadan  |  United States
This is kind of statement in your article I consider to be a dividing statement. “Lebanese and Arab Hezbollah supporter” This statement is on the first Paragraph of Al-Manar article About Sheik Hassan Nasrollah speech. Are the Lebanese different from the Arabs as a whole? This kind of statement is definitely is not something I will accept. The way I interpret this statement, We Shi’ia sect are different than the rest of you Arabs. Please in the future consider revising this statement
Zionism began in 1897, and abruptly ended in 2007 15/08/2007 22:27:00

The days of Zionist deception, oppression, and aggression have finally come to a sweet end. The valiant Men of God have succeeded in vanquishing any last shreds of Zionist designs on Lebanon and the entire Middle East. Zionism (1897-2007) has finally been exposed. No longer will the oppressed of the earth be gullible in believing Israel and the US. We are much smarter and stronger both militarily and psychologically, and ready to face the Zionist enemy every day and in every place. Thank you Sayyed for guiding us on the right path.

first of all, a compliment to Manar. Three, four weeks after my last comments, Manar mainly use "clean" language, avoiding tiltles, like "Israeli occupying Army" or "Israeli occupation Minister" or puting Israel inside " ". If a miracle happens, and the "Zionist en" will change to "Israel", that would show that Manar made a nice progress. As to Sayyed Nassralla's speech. It seems, here in Sweden, that Mr. Nassrallah is trully want to avoid any second round. Either by threatening Israel with Rockets and "surprises", or by repeating that if, "A3oz billa", God forbids, a war will startz, or that he does everything to prevent a war, etc. Even after the first round, Mr. Nassrallah admitted, had he known the results, he wouldn't have kidnap the soldiers. After the price of this act was known, namely 90% destruction of the Shia economical and Housing infrastructure, 1000 of dead, 140,000 damaged houses, ruined factories, fuel stations, pumps, bridges, schools, cars etc, one million Shia refugees etc, while on the Israeli side ALL the damages were repaired and compensated, while Israel draw operatice conclusions in the political, military, civil-front and propaganda fields, a second round probably will cause the marginalizing of the Hezbollah, letting room for Amal and Non Shia players to replace the Hezbollah. the main tactical mistake or, as in last year, the miscalculation of him, is ignoring the importance of keeping Israelis as kidnapped. the Israeli Military intelligence assumes, that the soldiers are dead. So no concessions would be made. But provocations would me generated, in order to spark the second round. Just to remind the readers, the PLO kept a cease fire vis-a-vis Israel in 1981 and 1982. The Israelis invaded Lebanon and destroyed the PLO state-in-state, after their Ambassador to London, Argov, was assassinated (not even by PLO...!!!). The HA is also risking an internal civil-war among the Lebanese Shia community, in case of a war, because many "modern" Shias understand, that the Shia community is a minority among the Sunni, and are directly attacked in Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan and lately even in Iran (by the Baluchies). The Israelis and the Christians are natural allies of them, as a balance against the Saudi-dominated Sunni dominance. The Taqiya, which is implemented by the Druzes over the last 1000 years, might be a survival need also among the Shia. No Palestinians will be grateful towards the Shias in Lebanon, for supporting them. Many Palestinians were furious, when the "seven villages" were claimed by Mr. Nassrallah. A long-run political existance of the Hezbollah, depends of compromizing with Israel ("never say never"), starting with small gestures. Israel made big concessions in the past, in exchange of peace agreements. A hezbollah accepting Israel (without losing face, of caurse), might bring enormous political gain for the Hezbollah, instituting them among the Shia community, playing a crucial role in Lebanon's future. La Shak, as they say in Arabic, Mr. Nassralah is standing now on a crossroad. He has to choose a direction.

Im sure you misunderstood the Message . when the writer of this article said Lebanese and Arab Supporters , he meant they were Arabs from Other arab nations , otherwise he would have to list their nationality and it would have been a longer task . Can you imagine talking about tens of thousands of Lebanese , and Bahraini Yemeni, Saudi Kuwaiti Emirati syrian ec... supporters of Hezbollah . so Arab made it simpler . No one doubt the arab Nature of the lebanese (even if some are now talking about their phonenician origins instead in their blogs ) but im sure the word Arab was not used to divide anyone . Long live the true resistance and our Sayyed . I just wish he did not announce the suprise and really left it as a suprise to the zionists . but im sure he mentioned it to deter any other attacks on Lebanon .

It is more to recognise that HizbAllah is mainly Lebanese organisation, and we Muslims, all Shias and non-Shias, support HizbAllah. In America it is illegal to support them, but our hearts are with HizbAllah. We want to see end of Zionism, and as brother has mentioned, it is the end of it insha-Allah [ انشاء الله ] The sacrifices offered by the brothers of HizbAllah are not forgetable. Sayyed has taken the role of Abdul Azeez the ruler of Saudie Arabia and robber of Muslims, out of his speech. He signed a pact and used to be available in the US defence archives in pentagon, before the slave of USA namely Al Qaidah burnt it in 2001. I do not understand why? BUT I AM SURE HE HAS DONE WITH A GOOD PURPOSE AND I ACCEPT IT WHOLE HEARTEDLY.
God bless you, you did the right thing. 16/08/2007 01:10:00

God Bless You Mr. Nassrallah, You are doing nothing wrong, in the contrary, you want to protect the Lebanese Muslims and especially the Shia Minority in the Middle East. Israel is 10 times stronger but with God's Will youre people were able to defend themselves brilliantly, knowing that the war on Lebanon was planned long time ago. Yes, keep preparations, because the monitoring machines of Israel are waiting for the next dip to hit back in such a way that will not let you stand up again. Your preparation must become a daily practice and a machine as well. Your psycho threats must stand on from time to time, because (unfortunately) the Lebanese Government is not doing its role efficiently to protect the Lebanese by showing the southern enemy to stop at the borders.... That starts in stoping flying over Lebanese airspace unallowed....if the Lebanese army would issue a statement of fight (e.g. for example: Lebanon will send ONE SINGLE Bomb over Israel for every single unallowed Israeli warplanes flights over Lebanon, and if the Lebanese community would publisch and makreting this message world wide, then months later the Lebanese army can really realize its promise in sending bombs over Israel and the whole world will applause for Lebanese....and the Israeli aggression will stop. The confidence in Lebanon will grow. Investments will come back. Israel will never dare to destroy the tourism economy (and by the way, no one will dare to do anything against Lebanon). God bless you Mr. Nassrallah, you are doing multitasking job: Job of the Lebanese Government in Marketing, Job of the Lebanese Military in Defending, and your normal job: standing for the rights of the Muslim people in Lebanon. God bless you. Martin

What an Ironic Post: 1) The war did undermine Lebanon, but Israel surely did not achieve the aim it was supposed to. I remember one Lebanese commenting at the debris of his House "What Israel broke is these STONES, but they Could not break our HEART". Compare this with the RUDENESS with which the Israeli authority was shaken after the war. The resignations and the mounting pressures speak for themselves. 2) The advancing of "compromising" hand with Hezbollah in the second last para is itself proof of the "WEAKNESS". The END of Zionism is eminent.

Correct Point of View 16/08/2007 13:58:00
Dr. Perihan  |  Alexandria - Egypt
First of all many best wishes for the Divine Victory's first anniversary.. May Lebanon and the Lebanese people and their brave resistanace and admirable leader be in joy, peace, prosperity and health.. Actually it was a very correct point of view made by Sayed Hassan pertaining to the absence of any formal definition for the term "terror" in international law .. It is also correct that the U.S. and Israel refuse and reject any attempts made by legal scholars for reaching a definition for the term. However, the American arrogance does not stop to this far as in fact it still refuses to ratify the Rome Convention which establishes the International Criminal Court. The U.S. fears that its soldiers and political leaders would be sued before the ICC for committing many violations to international law, human rights law and the international humanitarian law.. In fact, both Israel and the U.S. government can be considered as synonyms to the word "terror"..

Let's hope that Al-Manar will keep on putting Israel inside " " and will keep on labeling it as a Zionist entity, because this is what it is. I'm sure that you have heard the speech of Sayyed Nasrallah, since you know that he said that he does not want any war. But you must have also heard that Sayyed Nasrallah will show Israelis more "surprises" should they attack us here in Lebanon. And trust me Greenshirt, you ought to take his words seriously, because in fact, Israeli leaders themselves take his words seriously. As to the figures you have stated, as to 90% destruction of the Shia economical and housing infrastructure, well Greenshirt you must have heard that "seeing is believing". The Shia community is not sleeping in open air, nor are they begging for money. Those Shia refugees have all returned to their villages, and their homes, some of which are under reconstruction. What can you conclude other than defiance and steadfastness by a people who wants to live with dignity, not under the feet of the occupier? The figure you have stated, with all due respect, can only show the magnitude of the Israeli barbarism when it throws itself into a war and loses it. Can you please name a war without casualties. The devastated community, Greenshirt, is being compensated and aided and by the way, you have seen the rally that took place on the 22nd of September 2006, when more than a million people, including those who had lost their homes, families, children, businesses flocked from everywhere to mark victory and renew homage to the leader of the Resistance, Sayyed Nasrallah. At the same time, Greenshirt, you must have seen how the Israeli military and political echelon was tumbling and the senior leaders were quitting one after the other. And of course you must have heard about the Winograd report that accused the trio of war, Olmert, Peretz and Halutz of failure in the war they launched. A couple of days ago, Sayyed Nasrallah said that he does not want war, but added that if it was imposed on Lebanon then he will once again defend our country. Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, the "Israeli" minister said that Nasrallah never lies. This is something that friends and foes should know about this great man. How can it possibly occur to you that Hezbollah can be marginalized, when the Hezbollah Amal alliance has been standing like a solid rock in front of continuous local and international attempts to break it. How can you say that, when Hezbollah had signed a understanding with the Free Patriotic Movement that represents the majority of Christians in Lebanon? On the other hand, Greenshirt, whether dead or alive, the two Israeli soldiers are still in the hands of Hezbollah and they will be exchanged with dozens of Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails. And trust me, and trust Hezbollah's previous experiences, the Israeli will make concessions ultimately. To your knowledge, which seems to be not ripe yet, the Shia community in Lebanon are not a minority, they are in fact the largest community in the country. Second of all, if you mean by modern Shias those who ally themselves with Israel, then this is clear evidence to you on the democratic nature of our community and not as they call it, totalitarian. Thirdly, my dear Greenshirt, You go the Taqiya thing all mixed up. Taqiya has been implemented by the Shia over the past 1000 years, not by the Druze. And so far we have not used Taqiya because we have been able to confront, fight and prevail in every aggressive war the Israelis launch against us. Hezbollah's existence does not depend on a compromise with Israel, because this entity's existence according to Islamic, Christian and Jewish religions, will cease eventually. La Shak, as we the Arabs say, Sayyed Nasrallah had chosen in which direction to go, before he was even born, that is when the Jewish was planted in our region.

You say Al Sayyed is an iranian Agent , which is not true , he is fighting for Lebanon not for Iranian purposes . If Iran helped she is thanked , the so called "Arab brothers " are too stingy and not brave to go against Uncle Sam in the US . I personally hate cowards . Even if he is an Iranian agent , Isnt it nice at least he is an agent of another Muslim brother and that' s an honour I would prefer it than to be an agent to the Crusaders and the zionists Yuk . those who are waging wars against Muslims.
The Sayyed Protects Lebanon 16/08/2007 20:19:00
Houssein  |  US
To all the previous replies, the Sayyed is the one who wants to protect Lebanon. It is because of the Sayyed that there is no civil war now. While other politicians are wasting time by yelling and insulting each other, the Sayyed thinks about the Lebanese people and future. Lebanon is an Arab country and an integral part of the Middle East. What affects Lebanon affects the rest of the Middle East. Thank God that the Sayyed has exposed the Zionist plot in its early stages. We should all thank the Sayyed for his resilience, steadfastness, and insight. Sayyed and the Men of God, there are millions of people, in every corner of the world, who support you and support your fight against Zionist oppression, aggression, and deception. Allah has given us a Divine Victory, a victory that will be commemorated for ages to come.
Peace is the first priority for A Muslim 16/08/2007 21:57:00
Samhas  |  USA
There is hardly any doubt in my mind that peace with justice is the first priority for all Muslims. Imam Khomeinie RA held the Iranian forces back from following the fleeing Saddamie forces. He had reservations for invading Iraq. The later part of the fight showed that it was right decision, but a man of reason and flexibility, as he was, he allowed the army generals invade Iraq. HizbAllah needs to think of its tactics to some extent as well. If the jews attack the civillians again, it is moral duty almost of HizbAAllah to attack civillian jews to deter their attacks on Lebanon. HizbAllah needs to mount 500 to 1000 pound bombs with their rockets, which have the capability of carrying that much payload. HizbAllah needs to keep the intelligence collection, better than it was and it is, while keeping track of all those around Sayyed, to keep him clean of the Zionist entity's intelligence service. HizbAllah needs to attack the jews armies when the are getting together at the borders to invade Lebanon. BUT PEACE IS OUR INTENTION, PEACE WE LOVE, AS MUSLIMS, BUT NOT AS SLAVES AS SANIORA GOVERNMENT, RATHER PEACE WITH JUSTICE.

To the surprise of the 'Zionists' and their surpporters (US, Britain and allied Arabian Kings) HizbAllah has won the July 2006 Israel-HizbAllah War! It was the bittest war experienced in the Southern Lebanon but by the Help of Allah's Hands (and the Victoriuos Angels) HizbAllah won the "game" by defeating the well equipped IDF. To this effect, Zionists and the supporters to this "apartheid regime" will not dare to establish and/or wage another war against HizbAllah as they certainly know that if at all they want to perish in front of the world's eyes - provoke HizbAlla. Long live HizbAllah (and the Supreme Leader Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah) and Aluta Continua...!

Israelis are Preparing for Another Invasion in Lebanon 07/01/2009 12:21:00
Bakari Maligwa Mohamed  |  TANZANIA
...It is high time that Hizbullah should prepare itself to fight against any Israelis aggression over the Southern Lebanon. The ongoing Gaza Offensive by the IDF is a clear indication that the Israelis are preparing a platform to launch strikes for the so called "defensive" moves to prevent extremism! It is a mere shame to find the so called the civilised world to comment on provocative rhetorics against the Lebanese. The people of lebanon should be prepared for any contigency from afar in order not to be surprised by the massacres. Strategic moves need to be taken in advance in order not to let the Zionists propaganda to take the shape as it in Gaza. The Israelis are bloody thirsty and war mongers on the shoulders of the US and their allies. Aluta continua HIZBULLAH.......victory is near!
