Assad: When Arab-Arab Ties are Bad, Everyone Pays the Price
Readers Number : 716

02/11/2009 Syrian President Bashar Assad said that the Unites States cannot be blamed for the deadlock in the Mideast talks. “The current Israeli government does not want peace. There is no partner for peace in Israel. The (U.S.) broker can therefore not do anything or be blamed if the Israeli side does not want peace," he told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with journalists who accompanied him to Croatia. Assad stressed Syria’s demand to get back its occupied territories was not a precondition but a rightful demand.
The Syrian president also told reporters that Damascus wants to improve Arab-Arab ties adding that what has happened so far with regards to US-Syrian ties was change of approach and replacement of dictations with dialogue.

Assad said that the Arab situation has improved. “What’s important is to move forward...Arabs have learned that when Arab-Arab relations are bad, everybody pays the price.”

The Syrian President reiterated that the formation of the Cabinet in Lebanon is the "responsibility of the Lebanese" and stressed no regional country would form the government.
Neither Syria nor Saudi Arabia nor the summit that brought the two countries' leaders together last month "would form the national unity cabinet in Lebanon," Assad told As Safir newspaper.

Say what? Sure they can... THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY DO AGAINST MUSLIMS WHO DON'T OBEY. Bring in sactions, boycott and demonize them in the media just like you did against the Arabs and the Muslims. They can put pressure on them if they really are serious about making this stupid peace which is a sell out from the Arabs. I mean come on, the arab leaders are offering the zionists 80 % of Palestine on a silver plate and the hungry zionists still dont approve of it. Subhan Allah, who would have thought that it would be the zionist thiefs that would stop the sell out of Palestine? lol. Anyway, back to the point, just like the US pays the arab rulers to be obedient they also send even more money to the zionists and who is so stupid to think they are doing it out of humble love for the jews?
Another thing 02/11/2009 14:51:00
Levantine  |  Levant
Another thing about the aid. The zionist state gets billions and billions in aid for not only their military but also their society as well as investments, science cooperation etc whereas the Arab rulers get billions in aid for their own benefit and to the benefit of the mukhabarat that supress their own people for the sake of israel and to protect the corrupt arab leader. The US aid to arab leaders is not to the benefit of the society except when something is built to improve the image of the ruler like a mosque or a hospital that they of course name either after themselves or after some other "royalty" in their family. But hey why complain when they implanted Mcdonalds and Starbucks in every corner of the arab capital, aint this what the "moderate" arabs consider to be success?

promises and threats.. 03/11/2009 02:41:00
Ingrid B M?rk  |  Norway
All we hear from the Americans are promises of peace, (which they rarely keep,) and threats, which are carried out with the sole purpose of keeping the world in perpetual turmoil. If THEY can`t contain the Israel problem, maybe they should stay out of the Middle East. They created the monster and now it is out of control. Re: Starbucks and McDonalds, they keep the US citizens from asking awkward questions or complaining, seems to be working in the ME too.
Bad comparison levantine! 03/11/2009 08:14:00

To say that the US should treat the israelis the same way they treat the arabs (i.e. sanctions etc) when they "dont obey" as u put it, is kind of illogical since its actually the jewish lobbies, AIPAC & thousands of other powerful & filthy rich jewish american organisations that control american policy & governments & pull US puppet presidents' strings. C'mon, i'm sure u know that by now!! U can't compare the arabs with the isrealis when it comes to US "aid".. Its the israelis who decide what "aid" countries like egypt or jordan get from the US. And regarding the "demonization in the media", we all know that this tactic is 100% jewish/israeli, so its they who have the power to demonize american politicians, not the other way round.. All mainstream media is in their hands (even Al Arabiya!)

Ali, its a perfectly good comparision because Yes the jewish lobbies control the US but since the US pretends it is soverign nation and that the american president is the most powerful man on earth then they need to thrown with such things that i wrote. How is it that the most powerful nation on earth can not control israel if they truly are soverign? The US is controlled by the jewish lobby under the american flag so it is completly justified to say that the US can do what they do against the Muslims when they dont obey until they have recognized that those we are told have the power are actually just pawns and spokepersons for AIPAC and zionist influence.

The arab/muslim idea of a debate is to abuse so it come as no surprise when in world politics you people are laughed at. Presenting an opinion in a civil society does not include abuse.............my mistake ,nothing civil about arab society.

What r u doing here on this site anyway? trying to see the other side's point of view? or preach about how civilised u guys r by waging wars on 3rd world countries & destroying them & encouraging terrorism & causing the violent deaths of 100s of thousands of innocent people with your "civilised" carper bombings???? Being technologically advanced does not make you civilised jimmy boy!! So if you feel that arab society is not civilised enough for you, go read your news on CNN, FOX or CNBC....
Arabs rude but not murderurs 04/11/2009 15:11:00
Sam  |  Lebanon
To Mr Jim, yes, may be the Arabs are rude- or more accurately- don't bind by an ''etiquette'', but hey! No one is perfect. Except one thing Mr Jim, their records of having committed mass-murder against other nations is unrivaled: BLANK; clean (except sadly on their fellow Muslims, yet nothing can be compared to US carpet bombing of Vietnamese villages, doping two nukes on already defeated Japan, or even German cities during WW2.) If the Arabs are as the clown media of the West calling ''terrorists'' or (more laughable) ''Islamo-fascist'', then there would not be Spain, nor even Europe and ultimately America- That includes the people who make up the ''nation'' called israel. Funny, the Arabs should have been carpet bombers, at least we don't have to listen to your rant, Mr Jim.

Obviously freedom of speech is not on the Syrian agenda, having a discussion is not something you people are capable of,then again you are from Syria a bastion of freedom of speech!

Funny records you quote..................... Darfur slaughter of Africans by Arabs must have escaped your mind, plus the frequent suicide bombing in Iraq must an illusion. The Western media are clowns of course,as they report facts that you cant seem to understand or not able to.

Since when jew media cared so much about Darfor or Africa (remember Rwanda? jew media was mute.) Only when they knew the potential Yellow cake (that's Uranium Ore) under the Darfori feet and since Sudan has good relations with Iran, the entire might of hollywood's servants (aka actors & directors) went on the usual jew-PR stunt; Why they did not do that when Gaza kids are being killed by israeli cowards? While the Iraq bombing, we know very well when American arrived in Iraq they brought with them the swine flu of mossad (and latent CIA Qa'eda). Look up the mossad role in training the Kurd against Iran- I'm sure many of these 'suicide bombers' are on some advanced and unknown type of hypnotic-drugs; KGB and CIA used it during Cold War. So stop splitting hair with your pathetic tripe.
Ah yes, the old 'freedom of speach' card... 08/11/2009 15:37:00
Ali  |  Syria
It seems so far jim that u're the only one here who hasnt actually "discussed" anything on here yet! All we read from u is "u people this & u people that","arabs cant discuss, arabs r uncivilised".... blah blah blah! Not one single useful or meaningful statement from u yet... which proves again that u r just a random hill billy who has no clue whats going on... Is that all u've got with the 'freedom of speach' remark??!! lol, News flash jimbo: for us syrians, freedom of speach is the least of our problems! We have an abundance of issues to deal with, cant deny that... But r U able to admit that despite the US might & advancement, that its one messed up system?? U live in a modern day dictatorship. U wanna discuss? go ahead discuss, dont just mouth off some ignorant racist crap!
