01/11/2009 Commenting the announcement that "defending Haifa is the same as defending San Diego" made by the commander of the destroyer USS "Higgins" during joint US-Israeli drills, Hezbollah issued a statement in which it denounced the old-new American stands and called Arabs for action. "We are not surprised the least by the statement the destroyer USS "Higgins" commander issued, showing the extent of the US commitment to defend our enemy occupiers," Hezbollah said in its statement, recalling that the July 2006 war was an American war, as preached by US commanders who placed it in the context of "The birth of a new Middle East." The Resistance party emphasized that the US new position is reflective of the US Administration's level of insolence, arrogance and blatant bias, in favor of the aggressor-occupier. "It also raises profound questions we place before those who still accept Washington as an honest broker and sponsor for peace in the region," Hezbollah statement concluded.
